Premature Ejaculation is a problem faced by many men, predominantly younger men who may be less experienced in sexual intercourse or even masturbation. While it can be a very depressing thing to experience, there are ways to deal with the problem and overcome it.
Officially Premature Ejaculation is defined by the International Society for Sexual Medicine as “ejaculation which always or nearly always occurs prior to or within about one minute”. In reality, however, PE can be defined by the individual. If you feel you are climaxing too quickly and ejaculating before you and your partner have fully enjoyed sex and had a satisfying experience, then surely this could also be considered to be premature.
For those suffering from Premature Ejaculation there is plenty of assistance available to you from self-treatment methods to professional counsellings services. I’ll be focusing on what assisted a friend of mine for this opinion piece.
Generally, I don’t subscribe to the opinions that PE is caused by any specific factor. We are all unique and there seems to be little or no evidence that this can be caused by any psychological state or physical anomaly. While it’s true that some medications can cause PE, this is even more rare than those likely to have been affected by behavioral actions – one widely debunked hypothesis is that it’s caused in adolescence by having to be quick during masturbation.
One of the most successful methods of preventing PE is the Stop-start method, which is ultimately not that different from cock edging.
This method was initially designed for partners, in which sexual stimulation would halt when the sensation of climax approached, using a grip on the head of the penis. If you have a cock (and presumably you do) you can see where the problem lies with this method. If I’m close to cumming and someone were to even touch the head of my cock I would go over the edge.
I do believe this method was predominantly suggested from an American perspective, where the majority of men have been circumcised, and therefore their helmets are nowhere near as sensitive as those of the average uncircumcised male.
For those with a natural cock, this method would probably fail.
But it does lead to the real potential treatment, and that is cock edging.
We’ve discussed this on the blog before, and if you want to go and read up on cock edging click to do so. To briefly recap, it’s the act of masturbating and stopping yourself before climax, repeatedly.
This is the method my friend used to overcome his premature ejaculation problem, and it worked extremely well.
For several months he dedicated himself to masturbating once a day, and spending more than 30 minutes doing so. Before he attempted to resolve his problem he would usually be ejaculating within one minute. While learning the art of cock edging he found himself lasting a little longer each time, until he was able to edge his cock for the full 30 minutes, and longer.
After a couple of months of this self-imposed regimen he was able to wank for an hour or more. This was unfathomable to him prior to this. He would often find himself ejaculating with a partner within moments of their encounter beginning, and sometimes before he even got his cock out of his pants. When it came to masturbation, his solo sessions were previously over within several minutes no matter how hard he tried to prevent his climax.
With his edging experimentation he was able to last for more than an hour, masturbating on and off, building up to his eventual release.
After approximately four months of this he had his first encounter with a partner and lasted for about 20 minutes, only having to stop himself once. This gradually improved over time until he was able to last for more than 45 minutes with a partner if he chose to. I usually meant stopping once or twice, but this ultimately went in his favour and he not only found himself lasting longer, but his climaxes were more powerful and his ejaculations more impressive too – as you might expect from edging techniques.
In my opinion, Premature Ejaculation can be resolved by the individual in most cases, and simply through learning about your own cock and your own physical responses. It seems to me that many men who experience this problem could overcome it with a little practice and a little more self awareness. Learning to stop the process as it begins and relax your body is the first step, following this up with continued practice and pushing that limit further and further should ultimately lead to overcoming this problem.
