Joseph reluctantly returns to Big Nugget with Henry, meeting Charles on their arrival. While sitting around the table their new friend begins to tell them the story of his time in Paris, and the debauched orgy he attended.

He leaned back and looked around the saloon, noting that no one around them seemed the least bit interested in what they were discussing.

“My host invited me to a private gathering in his quarters and when I arrived at the large wooden doors they were opened by two naked men who I understood to be his employees. I stepped inside and discovered twenty or more young men and women, all naked of course.” The handsome man gulped from his fresh drink and quickly resumed his tale. “My host arrived beside me with a glass or wine and made quite clear that clothes were forbidden, so I quickly disrobed and handed my clothes to one of his staff waiting by the door.” Joseph watched Henry, his blue eyes fixed on the man beside him as he retold his story. “My host was deeply engaged with everyone in attendance but he found time to lead me around the room and introduce me to several people who I shan’t name. Athletes primarily, but there were several notable young celebrities of the stage. He’d seemed to select some of the most attractive young friends and I felt almost hideous in their company, but I was assured that I fitted in”
Joseph could understand it, Charles was a very handsome man and even though he was in his forties he seemed to have the build of someone half his age. Although he hadn’t seen the man unclothed he could imagine that he was of an athletic build.
