How to spread the word in your area

Yesterday we published a post from reader RJ, who lamented that so far he’s the only one in his small town with BuddyBate buttons. This has encouraged us to think of new ways we could help spread the word for those of you looking for buddies in your town or city, helping to increase your chances.

No doubt, this helps us as well as you. When we started the BuddyBate button project we thought that perhaps we would see a couple of epicenters of bators in major cities like New York or London, and that it would help us to fund the site while assisting guys on their bate adventures, adding a little excitement to your hunt for local buddies. Since then we’ve realized that this is a lot bigger than we expected. Guys from all over are getting their buttons and hoping to find others in their town, and we want to increase those chances.

We firmly believe that about 30% of men are interested in at least enjoying some DIY bating with other guys, but we take the number lower than that in our estimates for areas on the map and give it a conservative 10%. It’s entirely plausible that one in ten men would be interested in sharing their masturbation with other guys, and whether you live in a small town or a major city, there should be at least a good handful of adult men to enjoy your hobby with.

The problem is letting them know about us, and our buttons and stickers.

What can you do to increase your chances of other guys in your area getting buttons? We’ve drawn up a short list of ways you could help us, and yourself, by getting more men from your area checking out the blog.

1. Cards.

We’ve seen this before, and it had great results. Years ago, long before the buttons were conceived, a reader in Manchester (UK) took it upon himself to design and print cards with our URL on them, and mentioning it was an adult community for men. He then started leaving these cards above urinals at the pubs and clubs in the area, and in the locker room at the gym too. I believe he posted them through the slats in the lockers so guys would find one when they opened it! Over the next few weeks we had hundreds of guys arriving on the site having found the cards all over town.

Reader RJ is now doing this too, printing his own cards and leaving them in appropriate places for other men to find.

You could print your own like RJ, or you could use an online service to print business cards of your chosen design. We’ll be creating some over the coming days and weeks for you to download and use. If you’re not signed up to the newsletter, make sure you’re on there to be alerted when the graphics are ready for you to use.

We recommend only leaving cards in places where adult men will find them, bar men’s rooms and gyms etc.

2. Social Media

One of the biggest problems for a site like ours is that we’re often the only ones sharing it. Getting readers to share links to posts and pages is notoriously difficult, especially when it’s an adult related site. You could help us out here, and help yourself, by promoting us on social media wherever you can. When a reader shares us with their followers we see an increase in visits and a whole new group of guys sign up to the newsletter. To increase the chances of guys local to you seeing it and coming here, you should tag your town or city, or make the post about you and where you are. For example, you could just post a message daily that you’re looking for fellow bators in your area, and link to us while getting the attention of other guys around you.

If you’re not following us on Tumblr, you can click here and check us out. Sharing our posts with your followers, adding your own tags relevant to your town or city, can get the attention of a lot of other guys in your area.

If you don’t have an adult social media account where you can post content anonymously, you could always create a new one specifically for that. You’d be surprised how quickly a Tumblr blog can pick up thousands of followers once you’ve been posting for a few weeks. Twitter is also a good place where you can set an account to adult, then post relevant links and find local guys.

3. Forums, tubes and more

Aside from social media, plenty of you probably have accounts on adult forums, and you probably use adult tube sites and other blogs regularly too. Why not add a link to us where you can, in a sig or in a comment? If you’ve added a personal post to our blog, why not link to that from your profiles on other sites? If you see an opportunity to promote us in environments where men are hanging out online, why not let them know about us? Forums and tubes are also a great way to find guys in your area, many allow you to search by location, giving you the opportunity to befriend guys in your town or city and to let them know about us.

We personally recommend [name of site removed as they banned us from advertising] as one of the best, you can search their members for guys in your area and message them, add a sig link to all your posts, share our fiction or advice on there for other readers to enjoy etc.

Even just leaving a comment about us on a relevant tube video can help, it doesn’t need to be a link.

4. Bate encounters

We know that a lot of you guys are already in bate clubs, or you have guys you meet up with for jerk off sessions already. Have you told them about us? Did you get an extra button or two ready to give the next guy you meet for a no-strings stroke? Spreading the word through existing bate buddies can create a domino effect, with them telling other guys they meet. You never know who they might be meeting for a session next week, so why not have a button ready to give them?
