On merch sizes
Can you post photos of what each of them looks like that shows the sizes? I wanted to order one, but I really don’t know the difference between some of the different ones – all the photos in the store are the same. I’d appreciate it. Do you have something that is iron on or pin on that would go on a backpack? Thank you!
Ethan
Hi Ethan. We’ve created this graphic to compare the sizes.
The logo on the items is different to the site logo you see in this graphic, but it’s consistent across all the items so guys will recognize it regardless of what items you choose to display. We changed the logo to be different from the site logo at the top of the blog to encourage participation and to help maintain a good level of anonymity while you’re wearing one. Only men who have one should really know what the design looks like.
The Window Cling is a non-adhesive vinyl which is simply positioned on the inside of a glass window and can be re-positioned/removed as needed. The Large Sticker is a standard vinyl sticker which can be attached to any clean surface. Both the Window Cling and Large Sticker are UV resistant and quite durable is positioned/used carefully. The Small Sticker is similar to the Large but a little thicker, readers put them on water bottles, on the backs of their phones, on mail boxes etc. The Buttons are standard round aluminum with a coated front and a hinged pin and clasp on the back. Finally, the Lapel Pin is a quality traditional pin, made of metal and with a blue and white enamel coloring. It’s as you would expect metal pins to be and is the most durable over time.
I think the enamel pin would be most appropriate for a backpack or bag.
The BuddyBate pack currently includes 2 Buttons, 2 Window Clings, 2 Large Stickers and 5 Small Stickers. It does not include a Lapel Pin. We might add one to it in the future but this will increase the price of the pack, which is our most popular option.
We don’t have any iron-on items yet, but it’s something we are considering for the future, along with tank tops and t-shirts.
On supporting BuddyBate
Hi. I wanted to help keep the site running so I looked at the Support Us page. I already have buttons and stickers and I joined EnglishLads too, as a way to support the website and keep the posts coming (they have loads of great videos!). Is there any other way I can support?
Steve
Hi Steve, thanks for supporting us! We did look into a subscription option for readers to be able to donate a monthly amount and give them extra perks like a separate area for fiction, but when we polled it was widely rejected.
For now all we can suggest is joining the sites we promote and recommend, and maybe renting/buying movies from our cinema. Of course, you could buy some toys and lube from BlokeToys too.
There are other ways to help out without spending money. Leaving comments on posts really helps, and sharing our posts in the right places can get a lot of new visitors to the site (please be cautious when sharing links, only do so in spaces with adult audiences).
Once again, thanks for the support, Steve!
On social media
Your Tumblr game is slipping. I used to check it every day because there was always a new hot story about a pic or something but you’ve been getting quieter there for a few weeks now. What’s up with that?
JP
Hi JP. As you may or may not know, Tumblr started a crack-down on adult interests on the site last year and since then things have been declining. Their algorithms are messed up, a hardcore pic posted by someone else will be missed by it while a moderate non-adult pic of ours with an erotic tale of adult fun will be instantly banned. It sucks, because we had almost 100k followers there. We just don’t have the time or inclination to spend hours posting there when 80% of it isn’t going to last more than 48hrs.
We will be occasionally posting there, but we are turning it down significantly and moving more to newTumbl.
UPDATE MAY 2023: While we mention newTumbl as an alternative social media platform to use in this post, the platform is currently purging adult content in the same way others have in the past. We do not recommend using it.
They have a much better system for categorizing adult content and moderating users and we’re growing at a nice pace there too. We also have a profile at ShareSome, but we use that less because it’s clumsier and we get far less interaction from other users, it seems to be mostly for men and women in the adult entertainment business to promote their work.
We no longer have a Twitter account. We never used Facebook (seriously, delete Facebook). We don’t use sites like Reddit because age protections are too weak.
We are considering a way to add daily posting to the blog here, perhaps something similar to a microblog, let us know in the comments if that sounds good!
On map data and statistics
I live in a town where buttons and stickers have been sold and sent to, Fallon, NV. I’m eagerly looking for them when I’m out and about and at the gym. I wanted to let you know your data on the map is incorrect though. Yes, the city has approx 7,500 people but within a 10 miles radius of the city center lives 22,000. That opens more opportunities to meet baters with the same interest. Cheers!
HornetGuy
Hi. Thanks for the information. We usually just go by available public data, filtering it down with a simple mathematical reduction to get to the 10% of 18+ male inhabitants, but we understand that this number can change depending on the various criteria those agencies and publications use.
We did consider calculating it by state or by county (in this case it would be Churchill county, with a population of 24k) but this wouldn’t help readers to understand the map or encourage participation.
We haven’t changed it on this occasion as other readers in the area who’ll see it might be confused about the statistic.
Be sure that regardless of this number there are still plenty of guys in the area seeking the same, it’s just a matter of finding them 🙂
On the age check popup
I came here yesterday on my phone and a page popped up asking me to put my date of birth in. Is this new?
BigWilly
Hey! Yes, it’s new. We added it earlier this month as another layer of warning for those who might be coming here without knowing what we’re about. We love that readers want to share our posts and promote the site to others out there on the Internet, but it’s a wild place. In an ideal world parents would monitor and control what those in their care are doing online, and other websites would monitor and categorize content on their sites accordingly so that our content and links are appropriate to the audience encountering it, but we don’t live in that world.
The warning page is just another measure we can take to help reduce the chances of someone “accidentally” coming here not knowing what we’re about. It should only need to be done once every few weeks or if you delete cookies from your browser. We don’t think it’s too much of an inconvenience.
As you know, laws are changing and governments are attempting to tame the Internet in various ways. We don’t agree with all the measures various governments are taking or considering, but we do believe that every reasonable action that can be taken to protect the vulnerable online should be taken. We’re just trying to keep ahead of the curve a little so we’re better placed to survive any drastic changes coming our way in the future.
