We weren’t wanking in the showers before the sign went up

I read the poll last week about catching guys wanking in the showers and I thought about leaving a comment after voting but it turned into a post so I’m submitting it as my experience instead.

I’ve also been greatly enjoying the latest story at the BuddyBate Patreon (the Patreon has closed, please view the BuddyBate Book Club for more) and it’s brought a lot of my own personal memories flooding back. Now seems like a good opportunity to share my first experience.

I attended college in the 1980s and we had communal showers. It was normal for the guys to shower together back then. I don’t know what it’s like now but with all those old buildings and facilities it was routine to have open showers. I guess things have likely changed and they’re all pussies hiding in their little cubicles now. lol

I wasn’t curious at all in my college days. I was absolutely all about the ladies and my real interest in sharing masturbation with other men, actually meeting other guys for mutual masturbation, didn’t come about until I was in my late 30s, but this experience is something I still think about fondly.

I played various sports when I was a student, mostly just for fun, student clubs and that kind of thing. It was primarily about enjoying student life and making connections, and I’d always been quite athletic. The cross country running group was my favourite group to be a part of. It had started as a mixed group but the only two girls who’d joined abandoned it when one of them dropped out of college and her friend buried herself in her studies. It was soon just a group of guys.

We used to use the same showers every time and one day a sign appeared on the wall outside warning that masturbation was strictly forbidden. We all laughed about it. I think most of us had probably enjoyed a wank or two if we’d happened to find ourselves alone in there but it was an open shower room and it was used by groups of guys so that just made it funnier to us.

We’d never done anything like that with each other before that sign was put up but being rebellious and horny it automatically instigated exactly what they didn’t want us to be doing.

I think about eight of us were in there when one of my friends made a few jokey comments like ‘fight the system!’ and started wanking his dick. We were really just laughing about how stupid it was but soon all of us were playing with our dicks and wanking off, just making jokes about it and having a laugh. We wondered how they would know that anyone was having a wank in there. Would they be monitoring us? Were they relying on informants?

You have to remember that this was in the ’80s, in England, and everything was quite political. We had student groups on opposing sides of the political spectrum, with one side in support of Thatcherism and other groups like the Socialists against everything the Tories were doing, much like things are now only less crazy. Most of my friends either didn’t care about that stuff or they were posh lads with a rebellious streak. It’s hard to call yourself a punk when your education is being paid for by your banker or lawyer parents but there were a few guys in our group like that.

A lot of my peers were inclined to either take the piss out of the whole rebellious thing or were desperately trying to fit in and be cool.

I don’t think any of us actually planned to finish that wank but we did. I think everyone did. We were all wanking and showing off, waving our dicks around and making comments about each other. It was fun, just a group of guys finally doing in the open what we were all probably doing at least twice a day on our own, (or with roommates, as I found out from a friend much later).

It really was fun and I admit that seeing so many penises being enjoyed by their owners was exciting although I would never have confessed that at the time. It was a thrill to be able to enjoy something like that in front of other guys.

I lost track of how many of us ejaculated but I did see a few splashes while I was jizzing. It seemed to happen almost all at once. The sign was on the wall for about a week before someone took it but it had started something with our group which would continue for quite a while in various ways. Every time we got back to those showers it was seemingly automatic that we would ‘rebel against the man’ by wanking off. I don’t know how many times our group wanked off together but it was more than ten. Sometimes it would be just a few of us and other times it would be almost the whole group. I think only one or two of the guys didn’t join in and they weren’t insulted or attacked for it, they just judged us silently while hiding their own erections.

It didn’t mean anything to us at the time, I suppose it was just an opportunity to bond and show off. It was all quite innocent and despite a lot of fantasies I can imagine guys might have about it I never saw anyone wank another guy’s cock. I never touched another dick and none of the other guys showed any interest in touching mine. I recall one instance when one of the guys attempted to jokingly slap his friend with his hard one and he was quickly shoved away. I suppose that might have been an attempt to instigate some contact but it never turned into that.

Of all the ways we could have rebelled it was quite harmless. Other students were into drugs and drink but we were mostly just wanking off together.

I’m still in contact with several of those guys now and I occasionally wonder if any of them are part of this community. I never did anything else with any of them but I did have opportunities later to explore masturbation with other men and it’s been very fulfilling. I do sometimes wish that I’d been that way inclined back then, there were probably a lot of opportunities I could have taken advantage of but I really wasn’t that way inclined at the time.

So there you have it. A anonymous authoritarian on our college campus put up a sign attempting to stop guys from wanking in the showers and inadvertently created our club of bators. I sometimes wonder if there was another group like ours that had led to that sign being placed there. A lot of different groups used those showers and it’s fun to wonder whether maybe the football team or the rugby guys had been caught out sharing wanks in the same way we were.
