What are the ages of our Bator community members?
Having been a part of the bator community for a couple of decades now I sometimes wonder what the average community member is like.
You can call me a geek, but I’ve always been interested in data.
I often find myself pondering the biases I might involuntarily have, especially when I read a submission from a particularly interesting man or publish a personal post from someone unexpected.
If you were to look around out there at many of the places where men gather to share their opinions and experiences of shared masturbation with other men you might have a certain perception that it’s generally older guys.
I thought it would be fun to dispel this myth and show you guys a little of what we’ve gathered from anonymized data.
You might be surprised.
I know I was.
As I’m the one who spends a few hours every day reviewing and publishing personal posts of readers seeking new buddies I could see that – at least from an anecdotal perspective – our audience was quite diverse in age range.
Still, it was surprising to discover just how evenly distributed the audience seems to be, and that those aged 25-34 are the most interested age group, followed by those aged 18-24.
I often feel as though the perception is that most men in this community are over 40. If you look at many of the established communities the published ages on profiles seem to indicate this. But I think that perception is only enforced by the reality that younger guys aren’t joining those communities, and older men are more engaged in the discussion than younger men might be. They’re perhaps not using forums or signing up to community sites as often as older men would. They’re probably using social media and more modern methods to communicate with other guys their age.
This seems to be supported by adult community discussion on sites like Reddit, where it’s most popular with users aged 25-29 (source: Oberlo)
The ages of men engaged in discussion there seems to be generally lower than the traditional adult forums we might visit for the same reasons.
I think it’s fascinating. It’s also a positive thing. I briefly checked what the data showed for the year 2019 and just 9.07% of visitors were aged 18-24. This number has almost doubled in two years.
Does this mean that younger men are discovering more about themselves than they were just a few years ago?

I am surprised!
I’m in the 16.4% but it’s cool seeing so many different guys here. I read some of the other sites and they look like they have older audiences but I wonder if younger guys just don’t have as much to comment on because they haven’t had as many experiences?
That’s an interesting idea. Maybe the younger guys are reading a lot of it on all those sites but aren’t commenting because they’re inexperienced and have less to say? I wonder how we can change that here and give them more to comment on.
Two theories:
1) we really are all equally interested
2)Possibly younger audiences on instagram or TikTok etc I love this blog but blogs are an older medium
It certainly seems that most younger guys who do comment in reply to personal posts have a kik account, while most of the guys who want to put their email addy out there are older. I think we need to work on ways to encourage younger men to comment and be more active here but I’m not exactly sure how.
This is so great to see! Back in my day guys didn’t really know about any of these groups unless you were part of the gay NY club scene. Then it always came with risks and guys expecting more than you were into. I wish I had the internet when I was 20. It was all so secretive and so much has changed. Good for you younger guys! Make the most of it.
I’m in the youngest category and definitely was under the impression it was mostly guys late 30s and older who were into it. I have to say while I wouldn’t mind having an older bate buddy I kinda worry they would be put off by me being younger. But it’s reassuring to see guys my age aren’t a tiny minority as I assumed, as it would be cool to have a buddy closer in age too.
I’m no statistician and just spitballing it’s a pretty even distribution if we looked at limits of accuracy it could indicate no difference- not statistically significant. Anecdotally speaking from my 39 year old self I think I’ve been as keen on bating no matter my age.
Even distribution indicates a pretty universal appeal. There isn’t really one demographic membership to the blog appeals to than any other
So perhaps age isn’t a deciding factor?
I’m 25 and jacked it with a couple guys. Glad to see there are other guys in my age group into this. Definitely thought it was mostly older guys with more experience.
Yeah I’m 27 and was surprised by this too. It always seemed like older men are interested more than those my age. Maybe they are just more open to discussing it.
I definitely think it’s a perception created by those are more involved. A lot of the experiences we get from readers are from guys in their 30s and up. I suppose there just aren’t as many younger men with experiences to share or the inclination to share them if they have had those experience. I’ve been brainstorming ways to encourage more involvement from all but it’s really a struggle lol
19 here and jacking it with 2 buddies regularly. Same as other guys have said. I think younger guys like me just have less experience and probably more active on socials. Don’t know how to change that and get more guys commenting and sending in their posts but I would like to see that. Maybe I should write my experience? I keep meaning to.

I’m surprised as well! I never thought my age group would be the most who frequent this blog. I’m in my late 20s. I’ve had quite of experiences in my life with straight and bi guys, I’ve been meaning to share them on here.
I think to attract younger audience is maybe develop an app for BuddyBate and maybe link this blog to snapchat and TikTok

Hi all, I was thinking some more yesterday about the poll and I wanted to ask the younger guys here, kind of 20’s and 30’s age group, what their thoughts are regarding us older chaps? AJ – to comment on your point re’ older guys being put off by younger ones I don’t think that’s really the case at all. Personally speaking I would welcome a younger cock play buddy. The only thing that might be consideration is that younger guys by nature are more likely to be more free to enjoy this hobby where as most of us oldies are likely to have families/relationships etc and so have to be a bit more discreet and so are perhaps more likely to play amongst their own.
