BuddyBate Merch Update

You might have noticed BuddyBate buttons, lapel pins, stickers and tee shirts etc were unavailable to US community members on the BlokeToys website recently.

This was due to the ever-changing and unstable situation regarding shipping goods to the US. The imposition of tariffs, the end of de minimis shipping, and numerous other instabilities, led to a temporary restriction.

I’m happy to say this has now been lifted.

Obviously, everything is being played by ear and changes may have to be made again. We don’t know what might happen next week.

As tee shirts and caps etc are primarily shipped within the US we can say with some certainty that those will continue to be available for the foreseeable future.

If you were hoping to get your BuddyBate merch but found the site unavailable or items not able to be shipped to the US, you should now be able to continue with the purchase.

MAPS UPDATE

The previously used map system became unwieldy and unsupported, so an alternative was found. Moving data to the new maps has been a struggle.

We are continuing to process the BuddyBate maps information and expect this to be completed in the next 4 to 6 weeks. This means all regional categories for personal posts (example: United Kingdom) will have their own local map displaying how many items members are displaying in cities/towns etc.

The overall map is also being updated accordingly, giving members a global view of BuddyBate community members wearing their tee shirts or lapel pins etc.

This is a manual process so it has been taking a lot of time. There is a backlog of community members whose purchases need to be added to the maps, and this will be done once all the state/national maps have been completed.
