Bateman’s Gully Part 2 – A Wrong Turn
After only a couple of hours at Bateman’s Gully Harry and Dave have already decided that their little clearing by the water is the perfect spot. Taking photos ready to send the other guys as soon as they get a phone signal the two prepare for the first evening, with Dave setting up the tent while Harry takes the short walk back up the hill through the trees to where the truck is parked, gathering more of their gear.
With the sun setting over the valley he emerges from the woods having taken a wrong turn, almost stumbling from the tree line into the long grass behind the old abandoned house.
Looking up to the top of the hill where the crumbling porch slowly rots into the earth he sees a gathering of locals for the first time, and he’s surprised by just how friendly they are with each other.
