It’s a question I find myself asking whenever I feel the need to put pencil to paper. Sure, it’s fun to create erotic work like this, but there’s no financial incentive as far as I can see.
And what do you do with it then? It just sits in a folder until you have to throw it out.

Charles Kerbs had that result. He started drawing as a young man and in the 60s he submitted his work to Bob Mizer, who loved it so much he included it in Athletic Model Guild publications.
He went on to produce work for every issue of Honcho magazine, and numerous other publications with a male-centric audience seeking muscular men in erotic poses.
I love this era of eroticism. His narrative driven work is some of the best, creating fantasies around traditional masculinity of the era, from wrestlers to football players, college jocks to cowboys.
