Have You Seen The BuddyBate Map Lately?

When we launched the original BuddyBate Button project back in September of 2018 we never could have imagined what it would turn into.

Of course we knew from the visit data of the BuddyBate site that there was a huge global community of like-minded men out there, but to say the response was a surprise would be a vast understatement.

We started with a simple idea: We wanted to develop a discreet way for guys to signal to each other that they’re open to sharing their hobby.

We created the original BuddyBate button and ordered a small run. The next month we were ordering a larger run. The following month an even larger run…

Shortly after that customers asked about stickers, so we created those. Then came Lapel Pins and T-Shirts.

While the community grew, so did the number of pins on the BuddyBate map. Originally we just wanted the map to showcase where the biggest communities of bators were, but we soon found ourselves adding dozens of new icons to the map with every update, in hundreds of small towns and big cities alike.

Then we started hearing from guys who’d found buddies thanks to the BuddyBate merch.

We knew it might take a little time for men to start discovering each other at work, at the bar, at the gym etc, but when the experiences started arriving and we discovered men were actually finding new friends thanks to the merch we were overjoyed.

This was in no small part thanks to you guys. You were out there sharing links and promoting the international club to your social media audiences, spreading the word with your bator pals, encouraging others to get involved.

Unfortunately, we lost count of exactly how many buttons, stickers, lapel pins, T-shirts, coffee mugs, baseball caps, beanies and more we have now shipped around the world to members of this growing community. We know it’s in the tens of thousands.

You might have noticed we’ve expanded the range quite a bit. We’ve divided all the merch into two camps – BOLD and DISCREET. Now you have the option to display the round logo without alteration, or the discreet design that only those who have them will recognize.

I want to finish this by thanking you guys for making what was a simple and fun project into the global cub it’s become. Originally it was just a simple idea to see if we could encourage guys to seek each other out for friendship and fun, and 5 years later it’s become a massive global community.

I can’t wait to see how many new guys join the International Club in the coming months and years. Soon we might have bators in every single town and city across America, Canada, the UK and Europe.
