Moving on from Patreon

I can’t quite believe that it’s been two years since we started out at Patreon, delivering weekly fiction and giving our community adventures to follow. It’s been an amazing experience.
While it’s been hard work at times it’s been so rewarding to be able to create, knowing there’s an audience there to appreciate it.
Unfortunately, we’ve been forced to leave the platform and take a different path, but that doesn’t mean our stories are ending.
In the very near future we’ll be releasing the first ever Book of Bate ebook, an anthology packed with ten stories of male friendship and masturbation, in various themes, with various characters and in various settings.
Whether you’ve been a reader at Patreon in the past, arrived there only recently, or you never thought it was for you, we hope that you’ll give our first ever Book of Bate a try and enjoy the adventures inside it.
We know that many in our community either couldn’t access Patreon or didn’t feel it was right for them, so we hope you’ll take the opportunity to enjoy our first anthology instead.

It’s a shame we have to move on from it, some of the tools there have been useful, but we hope we can do the same or even better by selling ebook publications (and possibly physical print copies too) directly to our community here on the site.
I never could join the Patreon. I don’t know why. I tried a few times but the screen would just go blank when I tried to see it. I’m looking forward to the first Book of Bate. I feel like i’ve been missing out on all the great stories for the last 2 years!

We did have reports in the first few weeks of people who wanted to join us there but couldn’t.
They would click through to the page and it would just be a blank screen.
We attempted to raise this with Patreon but they never responded to the ticket.
We always intended to publish our stories in ebook form but never had the time to dedicate to it, but now our departure from the site has encouraged us to continue with that plan.
I hope we’ll have enough interest in the ebooks to make it worthwhile.
I thought about using Patreon for my gaming channel but when I looked around at the complaints I decided not to.
They ban people for no reason. They order their users to remove content from other platforms like Twitter or Reddit and threaten to ban you if you don’t do as they tell you. They never respond to support requests.
To make things worse they do all of this to innocent people while allowing illegal content to continue to exist on their platform. There are stories of them banning users who reported illegal content instead of banning and calling the cops on the criminals.
All of these things aren’t just random complaints from anonymous people, there were articles written about how bad Patreon is and why people should think twice about using it.
I’m glad you’re leaving that platform. Can’t wait to read the stories!
I can confirm that they never respond to support requests. We attempted to raise a ticket with them in 2019, never heard anything back after they confirmed they’d received it.
Same thing this month, we submitted a support request for information about their new 18+ policies and ten days later we’re still waiting.
We support any efforts to make a platform like that safer and to root out illegal content, but the way they’ve implemented these changes is nonsensical and insulting to legal adult creators.
It’s been fun for the last 2 years but it’s really not a good company or platform. I hope we can find equal or greater success publishing our stories directly.
I joined the Patreon and loved all the stories but I have to admit I think an ebook would be better. I didn’t enjoy having to wait for part 2 or part 3 of a story and it would be better to have them all together at once to read when I like. They were all awesome stories though! I really loved the Milk Shed story but it never ended or got to the conclusion so is that coming up soon?

Thanks for being a Patron.
We did plan to have one off stories most of the time but it was easy to get carried away and make them longer, and some of them just became too long for one post there so we wanted to split them into chapters. I think it worked well but I understand why guys would prefer to have the whole story at once.
We have two stories that were not concluded – Milk Shed and Transference.
We did plan to finish those stories before Christmas, and we planned to have a special spooky story for Halloween too, but Patreon forced us out before we had the chance.
We will definitely be finishing those two stories.
We’re thinking about posting them here for free, so that everyone can enjoy them and they’ll be able to see what they’ll get in the ebooks, but if we don’t do that we’ll publish them as their own ebooks for a lower price so that former Patreon members can enjoy the complete story.
